The Raynox HDP-5072EX is a 0.5x semi-fisheye converter specifically designed for use with fast high-definition camera lenses, achieving a high resolution of 630 line pairs per millimeter (at the center of the image with an MTF contrast of 30%). When the HDP-5072EX is used in front of a high-resolution camera lens, the field of view increases by 100% compared to the lens set at its shortest wide-angle focal length. Particularly interesting semi-fisheye effects arise when shooting from a short distance with the HDP-5072EX in front of the lens, due to the barrel distortion of -31%. At greater distances, this distortion becomes less noticeable, allowing for panoramic shots with a significantly expanded field of view, similar to that of a 0.5x wide-angle lens.
