DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY... it reads ok when your childs temperature is normal i.e. 37deg however as the temperature rises the Thermo will always read below the real temperature and obviously as this goes up the more dangerous it becomes. Instead buy a good quality in-ear thermometer (like they use at the doctors).
To answer the comment; at the time I compared to a in-ear thermometer purchased from a pharmacy; as it is non invasive it was easy to take multiple readings.Contra

At the moment, it cannot be recommended. Only when it can be used without a smartphone will it become a great product.
The device does NOT work without a smartphone! The required app must be given the "Location" authorisation. Otherwise, you cannot connect the thermometer. I consider this to be coercion.

But then had to determine that the Messunge are absolutely inaccurate.
On the one hand compared with a Braun ear thermometer and on the other hand, compared with several measurements in succession, with the same device!
That makes already times 2-3 degrees from!

Frequent bugs (you have to reset the device), the batteries discharge quickly and above all the measurements are not reliable. If you are a hypochondriac, this is paradise, but if you have children, do not buy this product!
Very accurate and easy to use thermometer
First of all, about the app: I was also annoyed that this device cannot be used without the app. But afterwards, you can simply delete the app... It works without any problems.
The temperature is measured very simply via the forehead and is the most accurate we have ever had. No inner ear or forehead thermometer we have had before has been anywhere near as accurate and has always shown the same result when taking several measurements in a row.Pro

I had used various ear thermometers, also from established brands. However, the accuracy of the measurements left a lot to be desired; the readings given were more estimates than precise. Among other things, ear left and then ear right, or the same ear twice and a different value each time. The difference was up to 0.8 ° (for example, once 37.1 and the second time 37.9).
That's when I got interested in the Withings Thermo and decided to buy it. And since then, the readings have been stable. There is a maximum of 0.2 ° difference between measurement A and measurement B. Most of the time, however, both readings are the same.
I find the transfer to the iPhone well solved. It is also easy to save measurements for several people.
I find the fact that you can take measurements without contact very convenient for self-measurements or measurements by others.Pro

Avoid!
A terrible app to use! I was able to add my children to the app (with difficulty) but my husband had to set up a separate account (because of medical confidentiality.....). They ask us for information that we don't necessarily want to give (age, weight, location, etc.) and it's impossible to refuse, otherwise it doesn't work. The promise was good, but I was very disappointed with the result.
