I have been using the device for a fortnight. The initial installation went very well. The device works perfectly. The traffic jam messages are correct and have worked well.
I had problems when updating the maps. The update reported an error several times. After several attempts, however, it finally worked.
The quality of the original dashboard mounting plates (not from digitec) is not beyond reproach. The device has already fallen off two or three times.
I would buy the device again.
However, it is not perfect.
I can only agree with the previous speaker karstendre.
The device is flawless and, as always, 5 stars for Digitec. But the update and also the backup have not worked for weeks.
This is my second TomTom (I still have a Go910). In the product description there is the remark:
Please create a backup of your data on your PC after the first installation.
However, this is currently NOT POSSIBLE for VIA devices and various other new TOMTOM devices. Unfortunately, you only find this out on the myTOMTOM support page, but they are trying to make this available ASAP (as well as other elementary functions) - so you have a device to which you have virtually no access. This can only be a joke on the part of the manufacturer.
The device itself runs quite well, price-performance is good, digitec as always very good. But as long as the myTomTom software can't talk to the device (backup function, re-install voices, etc.), it's a clear "unsatisfactory"!
So I have the Live version, and I am very satisfied, runs immediately in top form, I am a field worker and need the Tomtom every day, can only recommend it, Tomtom is also very strong in accessories!
I STILL don't have a working unit 1 month after purchase!!!!
The new way of updating the map with the myTomTom portal is absolutely faulty, immature and leads to the fact that I already have the 2nd VIA 125, which no longer works after the map update...
TomTom support has not been able to help or offer an acceptable solution....
My replacement device has an identical failure.
My personal conclusion: STAY AWAY FROM THE DEVICE!!!! At least until TomTom gets a grip on the serious problems with the myTomTom portal.
I have been relying on TomTom since 2005 and have always done very well with it. I was convinced by the easy handling and the good quality. I can't say anything about the product features yet, as I haven't yet had a functioning device with up-to-date map material.
I am extremely satisfied with the navigation.
Traffic jam information also great
However, the radar warning is a long way off in Switzerland...
