Great device that can be used very universally
Very nice, high-quality device with all the functions it needs today. Enough power and very good stereo sound (depends on the speakers used, of course). Decision for this purchase: FM/DAB+ tuner, airplay, alarm timer because it was intended for the bedroom. Airplay works comfortably well, music from NAS (Synology) not always without problems. Setup and installation was problem-free. Would be nice if the alarm timer could start the system with a fade-in of 5-10sec like my 30 year old Sony compact system could. That way you are first woken up with a relay click, then 5 seconds later the set programme in normal volume. iOs App Onkyo Controller clear, could contain more functions.

Great sound.
Great sound quality packed with functionality. The network server feature works well with windows media player I can access my entire music collection from the amp.
One negative point: Bluetooth has a 1.3s delay to it, not much issue for music, but can be problematic for videos. I have used a Logitech Bluetooth receiver on the line in to counter this, although it does result in lesser quality.Great part, run my music via USB and control the thing with the I-phone.

Great device
Very nice, clean and high quality housing. All the functions it needs today are included. Stereo sound with DENON -Boxes very good. Music from the NAS (media server) of the Fritz! Box works flawlessly and the operation with the "ONKYO App Controller" is very simple and convenient. Operation of the device on a LAN connection. In summary: Am very satisfied!

Totally outdated operation, should be urgently modernized.
Pairing problems with IPhone7 could only be solved with a factory reset.
Many stations were missing during the DAB station search.
When connecting to WLAN via IPhone, the Onkyo tries to play the router for the IPhone.
Overall, very cumbersome and impractical operation with small buttons, remote control and tiny screen. Neither well thought out nor intuitive.

Conditionally recommendable
Unfortunately, the AV receiver does not have a 75 Ohm connection to receive the radio stations directly via the cable network. The DAB+ antenna is not 100% convincing. It is difficult to find a position that allows good reception without a wall mount (of course, this depends on the room). The Internet radio (TuneIn) works well, but the operation is complex and takes time until you have selected a station and "connected". Bluetooth and USB connection is quickly set up and works perfectly.
