    for tinkerers

    For some, these "Mystrom" products seem to run easily. I've had the pleasure several times, and each time it took me hours to get the thing to work in the end. It seems to be a matter of luck which combination of firmware, app and Android you get. The software is absolutely useless in the event of a problem, bordering on cheeky.

    In the end, I was able to solve it like this (api.mystrom.ch):
    1. press button until red-white flashing
    2. connect to the WiFi AP
    3. information (version number): curl --location -g --request GET '192.168.254.1/api/v1/info'.
    4. configuring the action on keystroke (with example URL):
    curl --location -g --request POST '192.168.254.1/api/v1/action/single' --data-raw 'get://192.168.1.163/cgi-bin/button.pl'
    5. configure WiFi:
    curl -i -d '{"ssid": "SSID", "passwd": "PASSWORD"}' 192.168.254.1/api/v1/connect

    This allows you to bypass using the app (=junk) altogether.

    During my research on the topic, I came across the fact that the company "MyStrom AG" was a start-up from 2011 that was already swallowed by "tiko Energy Solutions AG" in 2014. In the commercial register, the Swiss subsidiary is only registered for "operating architectural and engineering offices", while the Italian parent company promises full-bodied "shaping the future of energy". It is not known whether anyone still works full time on the development of applications for these gadgets.

    Can be integrated directly into the WLAN without a "bridge" or similar. Central units directly into the WLAN. Flawless configuration via app.

    Quick to set up & does what it should

    Can be quickly set up and configured via the app so that one or more myStrom sockets can be switched on and off. The back of the button is magnetic and can therefore be easily positioned and repositioned without any effort.
