The product is so not worth the money - outdated Parallels version, a lot of hassle during installation and in the end a less than optimal installation.

The bundle is hardly unusable in this form:
The automatic installation installs Parallels 13 and downloads a German Windows image. The licence keys supplied are invalid for both:
- The licence key is valid for Parallels 12 and an upgrade to Parallels 13 was only available until the end of October 2017, but Digitec sold me the bundle on 24 March 2018.
- The key for Windows included in the bundle is not valid for the automatically downloaded ISO image. So it does not match the bundle.
Workaround:
Delete Parallels VM with the downloaded ISO image and do an installation of Windows manually from the included CD. Now the supplied Windows licence key works.
I contacted Parallels Support about the Parallels licence key. He advises to install the previous version 12. The update to 13 is no longer available.
So I uninstalled Parallels 13 and installed Parallels 12. Now the licence key works. What no longer works correctly, however, is the Windows VM with the installed applications; it is obviously not backwards compatible with version 12. So delete the VM and install Windows from CD on Parallels 12.
But now the licence key has already been used and the activation of Windows fails. A call to Microsoft and the error-free entry of 96 digits is necessary for reactivation.
Conclusion:
- After 8 hours of problem solving, the bundle now works with an outdated version of Parallels.
- Digitec sells a Parallels version that has not been upgradeable for 5 months.
- If I want to tinker, I would use a free virtualisation solution like VirtualBox. I don't buy a high-end Mac with commercial software to invest a day in problem solving afterwards. more
