Without flashing function (special product for Germany).

The tail light radar RTL516 is only produced for Germany, because flashing tail lights are forbidden there. It would be great if Digitec / Galaxy would also offer the normal variant RTL515 with flashing light. The battery life with flashing light is 2 1/2 times longer.

Attention this model does not blink

This model (516) is basically reserved for the German market, where flashing bike lights are not allowed. With a continuous light the battery does not last as long as the 515 model and some safety features with the radar do not work. Be careful before buying, especially since the basic model is much more expensive!

Great for road riding outside towns

    Pro

    • Especially useful on fast descents when wind noise is louder than cars

    Contra

    • Cannot detect cars/ riders following you and waiting to pass
    • Battery life is not enough for a whole day, and drops in cold weather
    • 516 is German version with no flash or peloton modes
    • Easy to lose from the bike (my first one fell off descending Susten Pass)

    Relaxed road bike riding.

Now even the electric vehicles no longer surprise you when you're travelling by road bike.

    Top thing

I can only recommend it to every cyclist on the road, it helps to prepare for overtaking vehicles. Unfortunately, it does not help to maintain the distance. But I wouldn't want to be without it.

Great, but beware of the conflict with a saddlebag if that's your case.

Great, no need to turn round when going downhill! However, beware of clashing with a saddlebag if this is your case.

Better than expected, digital rear view mirror
