    Stylish and simple CD player

Very elegant and simple CD player. I connected the Denon via Toslink cable to my home cinema system and have a very varied and clean sound experience.

The CD player comes without any frills, which I personally like very
much. Only the most important controls, a classic display with the minimum information and an appropriate weight.

I wouldn't use the supplied RCA cable, I'd rather invest in something in a high-quality cable or best of all connect via a Toslink cable.

I don't use the USB connection option because I primarily want to listen to CDs. The disc tray moves very quietly and cleanly out of the unit and back in again, the reading process happens quickly. There is almost no noise when playing CDs.

    Pro

    • clean processing
    • noble appearance
    • Connections (few, but just the right ones)
    • Playback quality
    • no frills

    Contra

    • USB function unnecessary in my opinion

    Top price/performance ratio and delivery

My first CD player broke after thirty years. Found a replacement from the same manufacturer in Switzerland and installed it a few days later. Super!

    Pro

    • My manufacturer on offer
    • Unbeatable price and delivery conditions

    Silver for champagne

DENON's inner workings actually speak for themselves. *****

One star less for the lack of a successor model that could be considered (a real, better) successor.
As a replacement for the DCD755AR "champagne" which has
served us for 15 years but is unfortunately no longer available :(
Fortunately, the design is available in silver :). The colour is not that far away from the champagne colour and therefore more discreet than the silver devices of other manufacturers.
So something for all those who are neither attracted to black nor to classic silver.

    Pro

    • a discreet, elegant design in silver optics
    • DENON technology

    Contra

    • Handling
    • Title display, fewer functions than DCD755AR

Good, fine-resolution CD player with neutral sound

The Denon DCD-720AE CD player plays the music tracks with a neutral sound. The bass is crisp and dry. A better cable to the amplifier makes a difference. TF cables (TCC75) are fitted to my player. What bothers me a little is the display: only the track being played is shown, and at the beginning there is an overview with the playing time... On an old Denon CD player (DCD-580), you could see which tracks were not yet playing and you could call up the remaining playing time of a track with a small remote control. Otherwise, I am totally happy with the player :-)

    Pro

    • plays really well (fine resolution)
    • neutral sound

    Contra

    • Display shows only the currently playing piece of music & at the beginning an overview with playing time
