First of all: this thing does exactly what it's supposed to. Cools my hothead (AMD Ryzen 9 7900X) to approx. 38° at idle. When converting videos with a total of 8 GB just at ~ 85°, then very quickly at max 40° again
However, only after the - probably be quiet! typical fiddly installation.
Tip for installation (ASUS Prime X670-P):
- Insert CPU
- Apply cooling paste (Arctic MX 6 in my case)
- Connect the Y-cable from the 2nd (centre) fan to the board
- Place the Dark Rock Pro 5 between CPU and 2nd fan, position 2nd fan and screw tight.
IMPORTANT: only tighten the connecting rails between the backplate and the fan so that they hold without wobbling! Otherwise the fan cannot be fastened. Possibly test without cooling paste.
And when everything is ready: have fun with it.

Good value for money. It does its job perfectly. My AMD 7800 x3d processor doesn't usually exceed 50 degrees and the ventirad is silent.

Super fan at a very good price/performance ratio for me. I can recommend it without reservation!

I have better cooling performance with the Dark Rock Pro 5 than with a good 240 water cooling system. Keeps the 3950X at 59C at 100% on all 16 cores and is pleasantly quiet. The product also impresses with its easy installation with the standard backplate for AM4 and top workmanship.

The build quality is really great. The size, on the other hand, is quite bulky, also because certain RAMs cannot be operated in this way. So be careful when buying RAM and its height. Also make sure that the PC case is high enough for the fan. And a good airflow. The fan is inaudible in idle mode and extremely efficient under load, basically similar to the Dark Rock Pro 4. It doesn't quite come close to an Aio 360mm, but it's still an excellent choice for an air cooler.

The CPU cooler is top class. Super cooling performance and super quiet, I have my little hothead i5 on ASUS B760F under control.
Background noise at home office = 0, when gaming in combination with 4 x bq puiet silent wings 4, very pleasant
We use the Dark Rock Pro fans in our render clients - where they have to cool a chip that is constantly running at full power. So far, the coolers (including the previous version) have proven to be very reliable - in other words, the machines run with constant performance without crashing.
The new fan is much easier to install - no more fiddling with the screws through the block - and attaching the inner fan is now also really simple - it is simply "clicked in" and then only needs to be connected via the power switch.
Really a top product!

If the installation of the Dark Rock Pro 4 was not well solved, the biggest point of criticism from my point of view is improved in the Pro 5. The centre fan is now in a frame and can simply be pushed in after the cooler has been attached to the CPI.

Cooler great. But I will order elsewhere. Delivered in a large box without air cushion.

Cooling great, mounting great (long screwdriver for mounting on board included!)

The be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 really impressed me. This CPU cooler combines extreme cooling performance with almost silent operation. Even under high load, my system remains pleasantly quiet, which ensures an optimal user experience.
The build quality is first-class - solid heat sinks, high-quality materials and a well thought-out design make this cooler a real premium product. Particularly noteworthy is the easy installation thanks to the optimised mounting system.
In terms of performance, the Dark Rock Pro 5 easily keeps up with the best water cooling systems. My processor stays cool even during intensive workloads without me having to worry about the temperature.
Conclusion: If you value maximum cooling performance, the highest build quality and a quiet system, this cooler is a must-have. An absolute recommendation for anyone looking for the best for their PC!

The be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 has completely fulfilled my expectations. The cooling performance is excellent and the fan remains almost inaudible even under high load. The installation is well described, but you should make sure that there is enough space in the case. Perfect for users who value efficiency and noise levels.

Although my review refers to the Dark Rock Pro 3 from 2015, it also applies to the Pro 5.
As my Pro 3 was still supplied with the old retention kit for LGA775 and AM2/2+, I was unable to use it on my current build. I then saw online that the cooler had later been updated with a new retention kit. Ordered yesterday Saturday via the spare parts form, received the order confirmation today Sunday (!!!) and paid an absolutely fair price via PayPal.
The bad weather is probably helping me to get someone on sale in Germany to look at their computer at the weekend, but I'm absolutely delighted. This is how service works!
I will continue to assemble all my cooling solutions with beQuiet products.

I guess it’s good but it has a few things to improve.

Very good air cooler. The enclosed installation instructions are a joke. You just have to watch YouTube videos for installation.

Screw on the AMD or INTEL socket adapters, then screw in two screws, slide on the best fan and you're done.

The "be quiet" site allows you to determine which motherboards are compatible.
There's a video as well as a manual that explains the assembly clearly and precisely.
A great replacement for my water-cooling system, whose pump failed. Quieter and very efficient.

I have no words for the workmanship of this air cooler.
It is impressively quiet compared to liquid pumps.
It is almost scary big, but once installed it becomes one with the motherboard and graphics card.
It blew me away.
