Zyxel AX7501 with XGSPON SFP+, VLAN 10
I have had the router in mesh operation with a WX3100-T0 for a few days. Zyxel WX3100 WL Router AX1800 Dual-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 AP (1200 Mbit/s, 600 Mbit/s) It works wonderfully, but it needs a firmware upgrade to version 5.17(ABPC.1)C0. Then you can switch on the MESH mode in the network settings of the router. In previous versions of the firmware, this function was bugged (see firmware changelog). Setting up the mesh network worked with the Zyxel MPro Mesh App. The "automatic" setup as described in the Quickstart Guide of the WX3100-T0 did not work for me. It took me a few hours and a lot of nerves, but you can make it work :) Firmware is available here: https://support.zyxel.eu/hc/en-us/articles/360021584739-Zyxel-security-advisory-for-FragAttacks-against-WiFi-products#:~:text=WiFi%20system-,AX7501%2DB0,-Available%20Now
According to Zyxel, only this mesh AP extender is compatible: Zyxel Mesh Access Point Extender WX3401-B0 At the moment we do not have a delivery date. For this reason, I recommend that you add the product to your watch list. As soon as we have the item in stock, you will receive an automatic email.
I believe the matching APs are now available: https://www.digitec.ch/search?q=ax5400
Stay away from anything that has repeater or extender in the name, go with a WiFi mesh system instead. The WiFi of your existing router needs to be fully replaced and this job is perfectly done by a Mesh WiFi system. They come in bundles and create a stable WiFi mesh network that has great coverage. Plus all WiFi devices seamlessly will pick the mesh router that has the strongest signal, without any interruption. The best solution in my opinion is from Xiaomi, their Mesh system covers a large area, can be expanded by up to 10 Mesh router devices and can handle easily up to 256 attached devices. Plus each Mesh router has an integrated 3 port Gigabit switch. And this kit only costs less than 130 CHF, offers WiFi 6 and also the latest WPA3 security. Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 (2-Pack)
Yes, according to the manufacturer, this USB port on the router is intended for a USB storage medium (HDD): https://www.zyxel.ch/de/provider-products/fiber-access/ax7501-b0/
Hello Our Zyxel router was not compatible with our network either. I would definitely check it out.
Hello The Zyxel router is Wifi Easy Mesh certified. This is a standard for the manufacturer-independent use of mesh. Unfortunately, I have not found many devices with Easy Mesh. The Netgear Mk62 and 63 are Wifi 6 and Easy Mesh compatible. Greetings
Yes, the plate that it sits on can be removed but it will not stand upright without it.
Unfortunately, we have not found a way to turn it off via the settings. If this bothers you, we can only advise you to cover them.
You can try contacting the manufacturer's support directly for assistance and information on your question https://service-provider.zyxel.com/global/en/general-enquiry

SFP+ module and fibre optic cable for Swisscom are included. For Init7, for example, a different module and cable are required.
It worked for me. You just have to have the right optics and patch cables. Available directly from init7. And vlan was still switched on for me. That has to be removed.

So that your question can possibly be answered, we have forwarded it directly to the community. This is because we unfortunately do not have an effective user experience with the product.
You can use the Deco X60 with the new router, both products support WiFi 6 as well as mesh. If you have any questions about the configuration, please contact our customer service: https://helpcenter.digitec.ch/hc/de/requests/new
It should work as it looks Here I found something about it: https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Router-Hardware/Zyxel-AX7501-B0-als-Bridge-vor-UDM-Pro/td-p/644017
I cannot confirm the lack of stability. The router has been stable for a year and I have never had to restart it. I first ordered this one from Digitec, but according to init7 it was not compatible, so they sent me their version and it runs without any problems. I haven't found any alternatives in this price range.
I have the AP in operation with this repeater and it works perfectly: AVM FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX (2400 Mbit/s, 600 Mbit/s)
