Question about Zyxel AX7501 with XGSPON SFP+, VLAN 10
I plan on mounting this in the power closet (with the breakers etc). Whats the best way to mount it if I have a metal mesh backplane? Just ram screws in and „hang“ it from there?

Yes, that's how I did it. M3 screws fit perfectly into the metal mesh back panel and it hangs quite stably in my box.
