Are the batteries still OK? The sheep needs a lot of power to close its eyes. When the batteries ran out, the problems always occurred in combination with the eyes.
Since it has always been connected to the power supply, we have had no more problems with lost values.
Have you already tried a reset? On the underside with a paper clip, for example? You can also trigger the function manually in the unlocked display. Press and hold the top button = Sam opens his eyes. Press and hold the bottom button = Sam closes his eyes. Hope it works.
Does the device emit any sound at all when operated? Loudspeaker defective? Already plugged in and unplugged? Defect possible, yes.

You can also operate the alarm clock with batteries only, it works. Or connect it directly to the USB port (old mobile phone charger).
I've also had this alarm clock for a few months and it works perfectly, so no error signs. Your children must be technically gifted or this device is defective. I would report it to Galaxus and ask for a new one.
Connection is classic micro usb. It can therefore be connected with a mobile phone charging cable.
