The device has an HDMI port. I use it to connect an Amazon Fire Stick
You can only connect via HDMI, so you always need an adapter via USB.
I returned the device after a short test (it wasn't bright enough for me). I cannot therefore say whether you can connect a cordless mouse. Sorry.
We had the remote control with us

Precisely via a remote control. This is included in the scope of delivery!
You need to flip the switch on the back of the device first, then use the remote to turn it on. If that doesn’t work make sure it is charged and that the remote battery is working, you may need to pull a plastic tab off the remote battery to activate it.
