Yes, the two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the UGREEN NASync DXP8800 Plus can be used to connect storage media such as external hard drives or disc array enclosures. This makes it possible to create backups or expand the storage capacity, for example. However, it is important to note that these ports are not intended for direct connection of the NAS to a computer via Thunderbolt. Instead, the NAS acts as a host and the Thunderbolt 4 ports are used to connect peripheral devices.

Hello everyone,
I recently bought the UGREEN DXP8800 Plus and am now facing the following problem:
The first hard drives (WD161KFGX, 16TB) were not recognised by the device. At that time they were not on the official UGREEN compatibility list. I have therefore returned them - at this point I would like to praise Digitec AG, who handled this without any problems.
I then ordered new hard drives, this time the Seagate IronWolf Pro ST16000NT001 (16TB), which are explicitly on the UGREEN list. Surprisingly, these are not recognised either. The funny thing is that even the WD models that I first had now also appear as "compatible" on the current UGREEN list.
The DXP8800 Plus currently only recognises the M.2 Samsung SSD, but none of the HDDs.
Have any of you had similar experiences or perhaps found a solution?
Is it the firmware or is there something else I'm missing?

The UGREEN NASync DXP8800 Plus is equipped with two quiet 92 mm fans, the speed of which can be controlled both automatically and manually via the system software. A test report emphasises that the device remains relatively quiet even under load, especially compared to other 8-bay NAS systems.
Here are the decibel figures:
- Idle / Standby: The noise level is around 26 dB, which corresponds to very quiet operation.
- Full load operation: Under high utilisation, the noise level rises to around 49 dB, which is comparable to a quiet office.
The NASync DXP8800 Plus from Ugreen has eight SATA drive bays that can accommodate 3.5" or 2.5" hard drives or SSDs, as well as two additional M.2 NVMe SSD slots. This means that you can use up to eight 2.5" SSDs such as the Samsung EVO 870 with 4 TB. However, there are only two slots available for M.2 SSDs, so you cannot use eight M.2 SSDs at the same time, but a maximum of two. The maximum total capacity is up to 208 TB, with the eight SATA bays supporting up to 24 TB per drive and the two M.2 slots supporting up to 8 TB each.
