I cannot confirm whether it works with the Rider. With the Go6100 and the Start52 it worked, Batt loading and map updates, updates via TomTom Mydrive.

The cable (car charger?) from the cigarette lighter in the car to the device is 130 cm long.
I just updated my Tom Tom device with lifetime map warranty on my PC today, which did not go properly. Now I can no longer use the Tom Tom Go 510 with Europe map that I bought in January 2016, as it no longer contains a map. I am advised to either reload the map (I did not, as the device was delivered with the map installed) or to buy a new map. That is a lifetime update guarantee!
The cable included with the charger can also be used to connect to the PC. It is a standard USB cable - so any other cable (not micro USB) should also work.
Unfortunately, I have no idea. But I suspect that the connections are all the same (except for the old models).
Recommendation: go to the shop with your own TomTom before buying and have it checked.
