You can use it in the classic way, but you also have the option of programming with Python. Python SDKs are available free of charge, my recommendation is Anaconda -> https://www.anaconda.com/products/individual

The only difference I see is the Graphical and Programming feature. So with the 175.- you can program.
Personal I'm completely fine with the 135.- version

The battery is available for approx. 25 Stutz (item 5600212).
I don't find them spongy :)

This is also a calculator and not a desktop PC, I don't know what you're going to do with it but it will do for Python.....
