Unfortunately, I won't be able to tell you for sure which hard drives are installed until about 2 weeks from now, as I won't have direct access to my NAS until then. But I am pretty sure that the WD Red (WD80EFAX) are installed, because the WD8003FFBX model belongs to the "WD Red Pro" series, and in my opinion this should also be correctly shown in the sales data. In addition, according to WD, the WD Red Pro is more likely to be used in medium to large NAS environments with up to 24 WD bays, i.e. for professional (business) rather than private use.

No, the RAM primarily ensures that several tasks can be executed "simultaneously". I have an old Synology NAS with 0.5GB of RAM and store films, pictures and music without any problems. The device simply slows down if, for example, I am streaming media on several devices at the same time plus starting new downloads or similar.
