Is it necessary to increase the RAM from 2GB to e.g. 10GB if I use the NAS for storing pictures and films? Some music is also stored.

I have an old Synology NAS with 0.5GB of RAM and store films, pictures and music without any problems. The device simply slows down if, for example, I am streaming media on several devices at the same time plus starting new downloads or similar.
