The Swisscom WLAN-Box 2 is not compatible with Salt Home Internet. It is specially developed for Swisscom Internet boxes and does not work with routers from other suppliers such as Salt.
The WLAN-Box 2 from Swisscom is specially designed for use with Swisscom Internet boxes. It is not directly compatible with other Internet providers such as Galaxus, as it is based on the Swisscom infrastructure. So if you have a Galaxus Internet, the WLAN Box 2 might not work. It would be advisable to contact the supplier to make sure the box is compatible with your specific setup.
It will be stable and provide good bandwidth assuming you don't have too many walls between the WLAN box and your router. It certainly works well together with the Swisscom Internet Box 3 router. It depends on the walls. Mine works fine through one 20 cm sandstone wall, but poorly through two. You can get around this by using multiple WLAN 2 boxes to set up a wireless mesh network like I did.
The box is specifically designed for certain Swisscom routers (Internet box) and enables, among other things, the range extension of the WLAN; in my opinion, it does not work in any other network environment.
I'm not sure if I have the Internet Box 3 (I'm on holiday), but the times set on the Internet Box are definitely taken over by the WLAN Box. I have also connected it via LAN.
Hello,
I have one and I changed operators and I haven't had any problems, but I may have to call the new operator to connect it to the new box, which sometimes doesn't happen automatically.
Bonne journée
I would assume that the WLAN Box is also compatible with M-Budget subscriptions. The infrastructure and hardware are from Swisscom and are identical for the more expensive subscriptions (apart from the M-Budget label on the devices). If you want to be absolutely sure, contact Swisscom's customer service.
Yes, that is an error in the data, the Internet Box can of course use dual band. It can also use WiFi 6, which is only available with multiple bands anyway.
We recommend that you ask this question as a discussion. Experience shows that more customers answer there than in a single question.
Alternatively, you can contact our customer service directly. https://helpcenter.digitec.ch/hc/de/requests/new. Then your question can be examined individually.
The product description states: 'The WLAN box extends the WLAN of your Internet box, Internet box standard or Internet box plus and has various areas of use: wireless connection between TV box and Internet box, WLAN repeater or WLAN access point. It automatically connects your devices to the best available WLAN. If the existing WLAN is not sufficient, the WLAN box extends the WLAN of the Internet-Box, the Internet-Box standard or the Internet-Box plus and thus enables a better range and higher WLAN speed.'
This works perfectly in our house together with the Swisscom Internet-Box. Unpack the device and put it into operation with the help of the enclosed instructions, voila ...
Press the button with the "+" on the WLAN box from wingo and within 2 minutes press the button with the "+" on the WLAN box as well. They should then connect automatically.
If this does not work, reset the WLAN box and start again from the beginning.
It is described on page 2 of the instructions: https://www.swisscom.ch/content/dam/swisscom/de/res/hilfe/Internet/WLAN/wlan-box/11026459_de.pdf

You can use the Swisscom WLAN-Box 2 to amplify the WLAN signal in the downstairs flat. This box connects wirelessly to your Swisscom router and amplifies the Wi-Fi signal. It can also be used as an access point via an Ethernet cable, which provides a more stable connection.
To install the WLAN box, simply plug it into the socket and press the connection button. The box automatically connects to the best available Wi-Fi network.
Make sure that the Wi-Fi box is not too far away from your router to ensure a stable connection.
Hello,
Is the WLAN-Box 3 Swisscom WIFI repeater more stable and more powerful than a WIFI repeater in the wall socket, such as a DEVOLO or a ZYXEL, working with the electrical network (which is not well built in our apartment, an old building.network (which is not well built in our flat, an old building, and the Swisscom "Powerline 2000 Connection Adapter" didn't work! The old ZYXEL ones did, but that's not done any more)?
The aim is to have a very good speed for online games, which are more demanding than streaming films/series.
Thank you very much!
