The expensive Dörrex has metal grids. This only became apparent in the operating instructions.

I used to have metal grids. They were good too. And for about 10 years I've been using plastic. Personally, I think plastic grids are better because they are easier to clean. Dishwasher is no problem. But I think that everyone has to answer the question of whether metal or plastic is better for themselves. Personally, I would only buy plastic grids.

I would ask Stöckli directly, they have an excellent and customer-friendly service.
I have never dried pasta, but I can imagine it very well if the pasta is dry enough that it doesn't stick to the grids. For example, I dry nuts and seeds soaked overnight.
