The cylinders are rented by the consumer and are -taken back when a new cylinder is purchased -refilled They buy the CO2 from coop or their retailer, but they only have the cylinder on loan. If they lose the cylinder, they have to buy a new one, which they can trade in. There is certainly more about this on the Soda Stream website.

According to the manufacturer, here is a list of the new features available on version 2.0 (not available on 1.0): - The carafe cup is made of stainless steel for the Crystal 2.0 - The glass carafe is held in place by the integrated carafe holder and therefore fits firmly into the carafe cup. - The opening/closing mechanism has been fundamentally improved, making it easier to open and close the machine. - The lid of the machine is made of stainless steel. - The internal technology has been further improved to make even more precise bubbles. This machine is version 2.0 However, you will not be able to fit a cylinder larger than 60 L.

The Sodastream Crystal model is offered once normally, other times with the abbreviation 2.0. Technically, I have not noticed any difference, perhaps this abbreviation was introduced with new machines or simply omitted in some cases.
