Hello Community, I have a 5Bay Sharkoon RAID at home with 5x 4TB disks in RAID 5. I was satisfied for a few years, but now it's dead. The power supply and something else. How do I get the data on the disks? If there is no other possibility than to buy an identical old Sharkoon case, I advise everyone not to buy such a crap. It will bring disaster, believe me!

I bought this unit second-hand and would like to know with which DIP switch position on the rear of the housing the unit can be operated without RAID. Currently, all 3 DIP switches are positioned at the top. Many thanks for your help

Can I also operate this station without RAID mode? I just want to plug in my old hard drives and control them individually via a drive letter as I could in the PC.

Helpful answer

This works fine for me, I connected the enclosure via USB3. If a connection via ESATA is planned, the eSATA controller must support Port Multiplier. See also the manufacturer's specifications at https://de.sharkoon.com/product/12909#specs.
