Digitec Galaxus already gives a 5-year guarantee, but only with an extra charge, see "Guarantee services". Which is nothing other than a rip-off when the manufacturer gives a 5-year guarantee anyway! This is an absolute impertinence on the part of Digitec Galaxus.

The cache is 256 MB and the storage technology is CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording). The hard drive is equipped with air filling. The maximum workload rate per year is 300 TB, and the maximum internal transfer rate is 6 Gb/s (SATA 6 Gb/s). The speed is 7200 rpm.

I have installed the disc in a Synology. Even though it is not certified by Synology, the disc works without any problems. However, as a server disc it is clearly audible when accessing data. It just depends on whether that bothers you or not.

The Seagate IronWolf Pro hard drives are specifically designed for NAS systems and are tested by leading NAS suppliers such as Synology. However, the IronWolf Pro is not listed on the compatibility list for certain Synology models such as the DS1522+ or DS923+, although they may still work. It is advisable to consult Synology's official compatibility list to ensure that the hard drive works optimally with the chosen NAS model.

The 24 TB version is from a different supplier and unfortunately not integrated into the other versions, we apologise for the inconvenience. The number on the largest version is actually black, which is probably the manufacturer's creative freedom.

Yes, you can also use the Seagate IronWolf Pro 4 TB hard drive for your PC. This hard drive is an internal SATA III model that is compatible with most modern PCs. However, it is specially optimised for use in NAS systems, servers and workstations, which means that it remains stable even under higher loads and in 24/7 operation.

Thank you for the hint. This hard drive has a SATA III connection, regardless of the model. The correction of the information has been requested

Private tip: try connecting directly without icebox. If the problems are gone WITHOUT icebox, it is probably due to the icebox (and not the hard disc), then contact the manufacturer support of icybox directly. If there are problems without icybox, it is probably due to the hard drive, then Digitec-support can help as a reseller. It works. I am using it with Synology. The main reason is likely the noise level, and energy consumption if you have a very large NAS: enterprise HDD are designed for different specs, and NAS-specific drives have special features to make them quiet. In this specific case, it can take a while to spin up all the drives if they sleep and when they are working they are noticeable louder than my precious NAS-specific Ironwolfs

I have had 2 of them for a few months and no complaints so far. However, the number of defective sectors seems very high to me. In my experience, only old age, high temperatures, strong magnetic fields and material/production defects can explain such a high number of defective sectors.

In my case it is Seagate Iron Wolf Pro NAS with the designation: ST16000N E000-2RW103 SCSI Disk Device.
