This is another product where I seriously wonder which artist wrote this product description. It is a hard drive that also serves as a HUB. The idea itself is good, but I don't really understand the use of it. Actually, the question is quickly answered - the hard disk cannot be faster than the connections. If an SSD is installed, which I really have to assume at this price, the read and write rate is around 550Mbit/s because they are connected via SATA III. A maximum of 40GBit/s can be transferred via the Thunderbolt 3 connection. I recommend a conventional external SSD to save money. If you have a laptop with Thunderbolt 3 and a conventional hard drive is still installed or it is too small, I would replace the hard drive beforehand rather than inverting it here. But that's just my opinion ;)
For my taste, I have to say that the dock is clearly audible.

I have only had good experiences with Seagate so far. But if there are more negative reports, I would perhaps be more cautious when buying. The Digitec reviews are also rather mixed. :s
