I have the 75 inch and we sit between 3 and 5 metres away. Even at 3 metres, everything is great. The information that you watch TV via Swisscom is probably very good. I watch via UPC cablecom and have picture and sound dropouts. According to Samsung, it is probably due to software problems. Greetings Ralph

The designations are already the same devices, but Samsung actually gives you different information: One device has the addition 2021: 75" Neo QLED 4K QN85A (2021) GQ75QN85AATXZG Neo QLED gives you a slim product design and strong HDR contrast Optimise your viewing experience with Neo Quantum Processor 4K Experience virtual sound that can follow movement thanks to OTS Reduce distraction from light thanks to anti-reflective coating Adaptive Picture automatically adjusts the picture and sound to the environment Item name 75" Neo QLED 4K QN75A (2021) Article number GQ75QN85AATXZG And the second device Samsung calls it like this (without the addition 2021) 75'' NEO QLED 4K QN85A QE75QN85AATXXN Quantum Matrix Technology Quantum HDR 1500 Next Level Gaming Q-Symphony Item name QE75QN85AATXXN But they are both Series 8 units. It's probably true that the one from 2021 has at least slightly different details. In the middle of the price range, by the way, would be a 75-inch OLED TV from LG, which doesn't just have a few hundred micro LEDs but 8.3 million pixels that can be switched on and off. Maybe that's something too? LG OLED77C17 (4K, OLED, 2021, 77 ")

These are two sales variants which are technically identical. GQ units are for the German market and QE models are for the European market.

As far as I know, it depends on the game and the picture quality. What I can say for sure is that it can reproduce a very high FPS, so it's currently on the high end. I use it with the PS5 and am very satisfied. But if the picture quality is only secondary and the smooth picture is primary, then I still recommend an LG Oled (which is nothing for me personally).
