No eSIM means no independent communication in mobile data traffic, i.e. no LTE, e.g. for S-health application or Whatsapp, music streaming unless you are of course in a W-LAN and no calls/SMS. But you have GPS for tracking - I just don't know how it works with navigation. For me, eSIM would mean that I could always leave my smartphone at home because messages and calls could be made.
To both questions in a nutshell "yes" ;)
You can answer calls with the watch and also see messages as long as it is connected to your phone.
Regarding multiple devices, you can connect an additional device, which is then also connected as a "headset".
Hello, so the watch is great. As far as I know, the watch is made of stainless steel and mine has the silicone strap, but the bottom is made of glass or plastic because of the induction charging. Mfg Normen Büchner
Hello Sventyp91
The watch has 4 GB of internal memory. For streaming services, at least a WLAN connection must be available. Samsung writes about this in the following link: http://www.samsung.com/ch/consumer/mobile-devices/wearables/smartwatches/gear-s3/experience/?cid=de-ch_email_newsletter_newsletter-december-sim9240_20161230_3ab---songs-to-go---cta&sci=68241063&listid=1369&m_i=rEIPtG8QRhwTqMI2AeoPkNGW41pROOYt462LdMTLDcUtf48SwfhyPmpRJ6Q1jqi0%2B8DwhXwmYjWrkxHpk7z83kV0uPFJWY
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the EU model right now. But normally we offer the EU model as an alternative to the CH model, due to better availability. The functionalities are identical. The only difference is the charging cable, depending on the model.
Sounds stupid, but have you ever tried rebooting? Hold down the power button until you see rebooting? The Samsung app on the latest update? Restarted the watch?
Turning off the power saving mode should not be a big deal. I've been able to turn it on and off on my phone and Gear without any problems.
The watch does not have a SIM card. Therefore, the mobile phone must always be in the vicinity (Bluetooth connected) so that you can read / write messages.
no the watch can only be paired with a mobile phone ... otherwise you would get double notifocations ... and via which mobile phone should it start the call when you call up such a function ...
--> such problems must not occur, that's why it's not possible and doesn't make much sense in my opinion !
According to the description, the watch has an IP68 rating, which according to [1] means "is "dust resistant" and can be "immersed in 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes". In other words, it is water resistant (up to 1.5 metres and 30 minutes).

Yes, it works. It works perfectly. I have this watch too. The S2 model also works. I am attaching a video link so that you can see it.

You can only listen to Spotify and Samsung Music via Bluetooth and you can also transfer songs from your phone to the Gear to listen to them offline on the Gear afterwards.
