Unfortunately, we currently have no information on when and if we will have the Roborock S8 available again.
The charging station is not higher and has the same height. If you want to place the charging station under a piece of furniture, I would recommend allowing a reserve of approx. 1 cm so that you have enough height reserve when driving onto the charging station.

S8 only includes the charging station. A suction station can NOT be purchased at a later date (incompatible). The S8+ includes the suction station. S8 Pro Ultra comes with a cleaning station.

Only the manufacturer can answer this question directly. On the smarthomeassistent.en page you can only read the following:
"Compatibility with the Roborock S8+ suction station still unclear. As of today, the suction station is not sold separately!
In my opinion, it is not worth buying an additional suction station at a later date, as this will be much more expensive than a combined purchase (S8+), if it does become available at some point.
In addition, the water tank has to be refilled after approx. 150m2 , so emptying the dust container is no longer a big deal...
