The Primary E (this version) comes without a preamplifier and therefore cannot be connected directly to passive speakers. It requires an amplifier in between (for example an AVR if already present).
If the speakers have an integrated amplifier and RCA/cinch connections are available, it could work.
Cinch cable for connecting the record player (incl. earthing) is included.
Good day,
To the best of my knowledge, this is the version without a phono preamplifier. The version with a phono preamplifier should be this: " Pro-Ject Primary E Phono". However, I don't know if you can switch off the amplifier in the "Phono" version.
Here is the response from our department responsible :
- According to the manufacturer, the Primary E Phono comes with the Ortofon OM cartridge.
- In regards to the connection, I believe the customer would need to buy a preamp.
This is the information I have found and I would advise the customer to contact the manufacturer for detailed instructions on the types of connection.
The turntable does not come with speakers, but it does come with RCA cables. As for the speakers and other equipment that you'll need, you can reference this great setup guide (TurntableLab) for some options. https://www.turntablelab.com/blogs...
Good luck!
