Questions about Philips Hue motion sensor

Yes, this is possible without any problems in the app. Even in two stages. My motion detector in the corridor switches the light on fully for 2 minutes between 6:00 and 23:00 and half otherwise. After 2 minutes, it remains dimly lit for another minute.

The motion detector only works as a sensor to capture movement. However, you can make any settings in the Hue app and also set twilight for the lamps, including the time at which the lamps should switch to twilight :-)

According to articles on the web, 5 metres. However, you can also pair individual sensors via the HUE Labs website or simply use multiple sensors. The thing is so small and comes with a wall mount that you can place anywhere.

Yes, it works. Connection with LAN is not a prerequisite for the function after setup. However, if the functions are to be adjusted again after initial setup, a LAN connection of the bridge is required for this, as otherwise no access can be made via the app.

The Hue system itself has no notification/email function. But there is IFTTT for various events and services. It also works with Philips Hue. You can be notified as soon as a lamp goes on.

Yes, you can set the motion sensor so that it only reacts at certain times, for example only at night. The Philips Hue app can be used to programme the sensor so that it has different time windows for day and night operation in which motion detection is activated or deactivated. More recent updates even allow up to 10 time windows to control the sensor response even more precisely. For example, you can specify that the sensor only detects movement at night and then switches the lights on.

Not sure if I understand the question correctly but regarding max. time: After a movement is registered, the light can stay on for max. 60min. However, I assume that you can also activate other workflows here so that the light then simply remains switched on until you actively switch the light off again (e.g. via remote control or app).

Philips Hue + Bridge...the rest you can decide later in the hue app what should go on where and how...you are completely free to define...that's exactly the nice thing...but yes as a basis hue bulbs + bridge...

Have a look at neodymium magnets in the desired size, it's easier...

I would have had this use case once too. I still have dimmers and other Hue stuff in it and control almost everything with HomeAssistant, which is quite complex in itself. It would theoretically be possible, but that was simply too much for me. For me, the cost/benefit ratio was no longer right, and you also have to maintain the whole thing. If you want to get involved, the HomeAssistant community is also very helpful.

I had this problem exactly one hour ago ;-) Make sure the batteries are really well in. They do not engage noticeably. After that, it can take a few minutes until the system reports the battery status of the sensor as "good" again. For me it works perfectly again. I had the problem with two sensors. I opened the housing of both sensors and pressed the batteries in again. Good luck!

I can't answer you directly. I have integrated my Hue motion sensor in a Samsung Smartthing HUB and it can also recognise Osram, among other things.

Deppends a bit of the wall switch Module. I testetd it with sunricher switch and dimmer. Dimmer works perfectly out of the hue app. For the switch you need to setup it up in Hue essential up because in hue app it's not possible to configure motion sensor with a switch (at least of sunricher)
