The relative humidity depends on multiple factors. Solely the surface is not so important than rather the volume of your room > surface multiplied by the height of the room, to know what volume of air needs to be treated. However also the exchange rate of the air is a factor. This is affected i.e. by the frequency of opening the windows, is an air con or ventilation installed, the number of people in the room etc. As said so, it is possible that the device never manages to reach 60%. You state that the device reaches 50% however - I would go with that as the WHO suggests a rate between 40 and 60% - and you are already reaching 50%+.

You can find the information there. Unfortunately, only some Series 2000 models are listed. I would say there is an error in the information from Galaxus. Mine is also on there, but it doesn't appear on the Philips page either.
It only has an indirect display of humidity by setting the desired target humidity and when this is reached the display changes.
From the instructions "Humidity display information":
The humidifier is equipped with an integrated humidity sensor. You can set the target humidity to 40 % RH, 50 % RH and 60 % RH. When the desired humidity is reached, the humidity indicator lights up blue. When the humidity is below the set value, the humidity indicator lights up red.

Night mode is quiet! What do you mean by automatic? What's more important is the fact that there is no film on the furniture, like with others. I think the product is great

In night mode, only a small blue symbol (wave) lights up. This is described as dimmed lighting. Del humidifier is then very quiet.

We have been using the Philips Series 2000 HU4816/10 humidifier for a few days. It works perfectly for our expectations. The display shows the desired humidity, but not the current humidity.
This is not a problem for us, as we have our weather station for this purpose.
It switches off automatically when the set humidity is reached.
After your enquiry, I unpacked my still unused appliance and found no coating.
The coating on your unit could have been caused by temperature-related evaporation from the plastic.
