Are these the same backgrounds that you get in the basic set? So a smooth, white background (I like that one) and a black, quite thin, fabric-like background, (It's immediately full of dust and everything, not so practical, doesn't look so nice) ?

Yes, these are exactly the same backgrounds as in the basic set. I made the same mistake and am now the proud owner of two white and two black sets...
