Yes, it comes with a pen; I also bought the STAEDTLER Noris Digital Jumbo; this pen is more suitable for fine drawings. But the standard pen is quite usable.
Unfortunately, we do not have any information on this yet. As soon as the product becomes available for us through our suppliers, we will be able to check when the product will be available.
You have to attach the display foil yourself; I couldn't do it without air bubbles and removed the foil again and crumpled it up annoyed and threw it in the rubbish ;-)
I use the device without the film; it is absolutely problem-free. I recommend the Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo pen. This has a slightly softer tip which is more gentle on the display and is also more suitable for fine drawings (at least for me).

One thing first: I've had a Note Air for a month, and a colleague at work bought a Remarkable 2 at the same time (or received one after a waiting period of >2 months), so I was able to compare the two directly.
The Remarkable has a slightly better/paper-like writing feel, but that is of course subjective.
The battery life also seems to be a bit better (although the Note Air can do a lot more, more on that later).
But that's it for the plus points for RM2, my colleague would have decided in favour of the Note Air after testing both devices.
If the writing feeling alone is the decisive point and you are sure that you "only" want an electronic writing pad, the Remarkable is probably worth considering.
As far as the other points are concerned, I think it looks pretty bad for the Remarkable:
- No front light (KO criterion for me)
- No support for external keyboard
- No custom templates for notes, unless you tinker by hand with SSH console and in JSON files (Note Air in comparison: push PNG or PDF into specific folder, done)
- Poor reader (slow, no bookmarks in documents, hardly any reflow (reformatting of columns/pages etc), no conversion of handwritten text, no landscape mode, no sliding of document when zoomed)
- Overpriced accessories (flip cover CHF >100, pen CHF 90), RM2 itself is not exactly cheap for the functionality either.
- No search in notes (searching for handwritten text on the Note Air is brilliant)
- Virtually no app support (as standalone Linux instead of Android): No Kindle, Spotify, Outlook, 20 minutes etc. (All apps which work fine on the Note Air).
- No audio output (Note Air has audio via USB-C, Bluetooth and speakers, I like to read books with it and listen to Spotify at the same time).
- File import/export only with PC/smartphone app
TLDR: The Note Air does everything better in my opinion except the subjective typing experience.
I came across this product because it seems to be the only tablet that is equipped with an e-ink display and where you can also install apps.

However, I don't need this tablet as an eReader so much as for biking, where I need maps on the display that are easy to read even in bright sunshine.
The apps that have to work at least are Komoot, Outdooractive, SwissMobile and Google Map. All of them also run on Android, of course.
Can I assume that these apps will work and that the display will react quickly enough for this application if the map is always slightly updated by riding the bike?

The Android base coupled with the form factor was also the reason for me to buy. To your question:
I just installed Google Maps on the Onyx Boox Note Air. It seems to be able to correctly locate the device in a public WLAN via Google location services. However, since the Onyx Boox Note doesn't have a GPS receiver on board, this would have to work sufficiently accurately outdoors with a mobile phone hotspot - and I doubt that this is the case.
Apart from that, the display can be used well outdoors and you can also set the update speed per app. This means that at least this aspect should not be a problem.

What's the point of putting this in the showroom if we cannot try it with its original Pen at least ? It would have been nice if the cashier/salesman at digitec could let you try it with the pen for at least 30 seconds if that's not a big inconvenience for them - wasted time making the trip to try it. I don't want to buy it to try it because of the return policy which makes me lose money. Oh well.. at least it helped with my compulsive buying urge. I just find this kind of showcasing the product useless
