IP68 is not "just" IP68, as 8 is almost the maximum (9 being the maximum) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code. The IP code does not take into account the salinity of the water, so the manufacturer (Mobvoi) guarantees water resistance in fresh water, with continuous immersion to a depth of 1m or more.

I've had the watch for a week now and haven't noticed any problems, neither with vibration nor with crashes of any kind. I came from the Fossil Gen n 5 and am thrilled. Maybe you got a bad model? I would try an exchange. I haven't seen the problems in any reviews yet. LG
