Is the so9 with i5 processor worth it for office work and editing photos and videos?

Hello all I have recently started studying and have now realised that a laptop without proper touch input is no longer sufficient. I still want to use the laptop to write papers etc.. However, for maths assignments or handwritten notes, I have to hand in the whole accounting process digitally, so a tablet is now probably also required. It's also particularly important for me to have a smooth synchronisation of apps like Onenote etc. with my laptop. Is it best to use the Surface Pro from Microsoft (I already own a Surface Laptop) or can I buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab without hesitation? Or does anyone know of a better alternative?
