With 15.6 inches, you're carrying a lot of weight around with you, which isn't ideal for school and taking everywhere, so I'd go for the 14-inch model and then combine it at home with a 32-inch 4K UHD screen that has 3840 x 2160 pixels, so you can work in high resolution. I can't tell you whether it is sufficient for your software. From my experience, the laptop is very powerful. I use it mainly for business and work with Adobe's Creative Suite. I don't notice any drop in performance, even when I have several applications like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign open. The laptop runs quietly, the fan rarely starts up audibly. But even then it is barely audible. I can only recommend the device.
