If the record player had its own amplifier, which I don't think it does, it would work. If it has 2 cinch plugs as output, it needs an amplifier. This in turn, depending on the record player, with a special input provided for it.
This works without any problems (the box has a pretty good efficiency). Digitec has a good article on the whole subject: https://www.digitec.ch/de/page/warum-dir-simple-watt-angaben-nichts-nuetzen-7324
I have it 30cm from the wall, and have another AVR calibration with Dirac Live. I have a good bass! But I like it.
Your Yamaha speakers sound good, I'm very happy with the Klipsch 820Fs. Best regards
Yes, no problem at all. Mine are plugged into a Denon 3500H and they're fine!
