Would this SSD also fit in a Macbook 15'' Pro mid 2009? I have just tried it with a Samsung 860 EVO Basic (250GB, 2.5") and that works. But I would prefer to fit this cheap one. Would that be possible?

Yes, if you buy an adapter / case for SATA to USB.

I have a mid-2009 mac book pro. Would this item be compatible with it?

Possibly (I did not use the one I bought in a Mac), but all the conventional wisdom points to using Crucial as the aftermarket option for Mac. For only 40 more, the MX300 275GB is over twice the capacity also (they aren’t offering smaller capacity).
