No. You must have a smartphone with Garmin Connect installed and running (even in background), connected to the Vivosmart 4 to use GPS tracking.
The stress level is not calculated based on the absolute pulse values, but on their variability. The tracker therefore does not have the feeling that you are stressed because your pulse is high, but because it often rises and falls. As far as I know, you can't set the limits differently, but if the display bothers you, you can deactivate it. Open the device settings in the app; under "Sounds and alarms" you can deactivate the "Relaxation reminders" so that the tracker no longer reports; under "Appearance > Widgets" you can also remove the stress display from the screen. You can also delete the stress tile from the app's dashboard.
According to our own research, this should work, but we can't tell you how to set it up, because we couldn't try it out in such a form. However, I would be happy to enter it in the community, perhaps a user can help you :)
