Provider Editions are only intended for registered Internet Service Providers (and can only be purchased by such providers). However, it is a mistake that we have recorded this version as the Provider Edition - effectively this should be the "normal" AVM VDSL router FRITZ!Box 7583 International.
Hi, yes, definitely. This router supports g.fast und offers a predefined configuration for sunrise subscription, tested by myself. I was able to reach the full 500 wirh this device. Just note, that you can't use it in bridge mode.
short field report:
with Sunrise (DSL/TV/telephone etc) I previously had the FritzBox 7490 (Sunrise branded) in operation.
After upgrading the line to 'G.fast' (speed protocol ITU G.9701), more than 500MB/s could be delivered - great stuff :)
Super thing :) - if the FB 7490 would give this :((( - this can only up to max 100MB/s according to AVM.
So searched / found the FB 7583 - ordered.
Procedure:
- Backup the FB7490 with the latest OS release,
- Connect the FB 7583
- Upgrade FB 7583 with latest OS release from file (of course downloaded BEFORE - NOT the VDSL version - and backed up ! )
- Restore the parameters (all! ) with the sciherung of the FB 7490
- after a short hickup - runs without problems - TV / telephone / internet with max speed
I hope this will help some with various upgrades

I switched from a Sunrise Fritzbox 7490 to 7590. Unfortunately, it only supports supervectoring and not g.fast. Unfortunately, there is no supervectoring in Switzerland. So I would have to switch to a FB with g.fast for a fast connection. Unfortunately, Sunrise does not offer anything from FB. So I would have to become active myself.
My questions:
> Does the Fritzbox 7583 provider work with Sunrise and g.fast?
> Where can I see whether my copper connection supports g.fast?
> Does it matter if the Fritzbox is not from Sunrise?
Thank you very much for your support.
Attention - IMPORTANT 👆👆 for users of IPTV (SUNRISE, SWISSCOM etc... )
Please do NOT install firmware 7.50 (complete - for FB 7583 = 167.7.50) !!! 👆👆😠
I suspect(!!) that this also applies to FritzBoxes 7390/ 7490 / 7590.
The TV boxes request parameters (section: 'jasonii' ) in the settings, which is NOT taken over by the new firmware !!!.
When I replaced the Sunrise FB, I always imported the settings into the next higher firmware.
reported - account locked -. After more than 3 hours on the phone with the Sunrise support (super people), I took the FritzBox
and analysed the '.export' file of the settings - result: NOT ALL settings are adopted.
So I DOWNGRADE the firmware back to version 7.31 - everything works again 🤷♂️😰😰 puhhhhh -.
exactly how the downgrade works is explained well on the avm.support page. A downgrade back to version 7.29 is currently offered.
no problem, I had saved the file with version 7.31 ...
This result was reported to AVM support - the ticket is still 'in progress'.
So far, unfortunately, not good - but mistakes can happen in software development, even those that slip through QA.
(in this case, the provider versions were not on the radar) - human 🤷♂️👆
Greetings
