You need a normal GSM SIM card (no 5G) that supports GSM (2G/3G) with the frequencies 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz. The SIM card should ideally allow a phone credit + SMS and basic voice telephony, because the system can make calls and send/receive SMS.
Important: The SIM must not require a PIN code when inserted in the device, otherwise the alarm system will not work reliably.
This alarm system does not work with 5G, but only supports GSM networks with the frequencies 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, i.e. 2G/3G networks. 5G support is not specified and the system requires a regular SIM card that works on the GSM network.
The product relies on a SIM card for GSM communication, which typically uses 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) networks. Since the 2G network has been discontinued in Switzerland, this alarm system will likely not function properly for GSM communication in 2025. The product description indicates it uses GSM for phone call and SMS notifications, which depend on 2G network availability. Therefore, without 2G network support, the alarm's SIM-based communication features will not work in Switzerland in 2025.
Unfortunately, the camera only works with WLAN, the alarm system and the sensors communicate with 433 MHz radio. Communication with the outside is via GSM.
