does it cover the screen entirely, or are the edges free?

It covers the screen entirely. I have to show people really closely for them to even agree that my phone has a protector on it as it fits the phone so well.

Is this protective glass only suitable for the gold Galaxy S7? I.e. is the glass gold edged? I have the pink gold one and can't find a protective glass for it.

Unfortunately, it only fits the gold Samsung Galaxy S7. There is a transparent protective glass for the Galaxy S7 from "Amorus", This protective glass then has a transparent glitter at the edge, but allows the colour of the Galaxy S7 to shine through.
