The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete is equipped with several functions that allow it to be used efficiently in multi-storey condominiums without having to move the base station.
## Multiple floors and base station
- The robot can clean on different floors without having to move the base station. However, the base station must remain in a fixed location, as the robot must return there after cleaning to recharge and empty itself.
## Return to the base station
- When cleaning is finished and the base station is on another floor, the robot will attempt to return to the base station. The X50 Ultra Ultra Complete has advanced laser navigation (LiDAR) and VersaLift navigation, which enable it to overcome obstacles and steps of up to 6 cm. This means that it is able to navigate between floors to return to the base station, provided the steps are no higher than 6 cm.
## Behaviour if the base station is lost
- If the robot cannot find the base station, it will not drive around looking for it all the time. Instead, it will head for a safe place and wait there until it is brought to the base station manually. The X50 Ultra Complete's comprehensive app also makes it possible to control the robot manually and guide it to the base station if necessary.
Overall, the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete is well suited to multi-storey homes, thanks to its advanced navigation and ability to negotiate obstacles.
I use my Dreame on two floors and the mapping works really well. BUT after 4 months of very intensive use, I find it quite cumbersome to carry the robot up and down each time because it has to wash and empty the mops regularly.
In my case, it is set to return to the base station every 15 m² - with around 100 m² on the upper floor, that's a lot of back and forth. On the ground floor, where the base station is located, everything runs completely automatically without me having to do anything.
As I'm super happy with the cleaning performance of my Dreame, I've now bought a second, less expensive Dreame during Black Friday - the L40s Pro Ultra for the upper floor/bedroom. Overall, it's not as dirty there as on the main floor with the kitchen and entrance, so the cheaper robot should be able to clean there without any problems.
I'm still waiting for delivery, but I think this will be a perfect solution: no more carrying up and down, and I can also leave the robot running upstairs when I'm not at home.
According to our information, the X50 Ultra Complete includes the following:
- 1x cleaning agent
- 3x dust bag
- 3x filters
- 2x side brushes
- 1x main brush set
- 12x mop pads
As we have different suppliers and purchase prices for the colours, the price may differ for the colour version.
I have a separate wifi for such devices that does not reach into the whole flat. Despite this, the remote control just doesn't work. It needs a permanent connection for this. You can also specify several wifi networks (supported by the device), but I have never tested it.
Compatible accessories for the Dreame Vacuum cleaner - robot X50 Ultra include specially designed spare parts such as dust bags, mop pads, filters and side brushes that ensure optimal performance and easy installation. For example, a practical value pack contains 6 dust bags and 4 mop pads that are compatible with the model.
There are also original accessories and spare parts such as filters, side brushes and batteries available specifically for Dreame robot hoovers, including the X50 Ultra. Accessory kits are also available that are customised to the robot's functions.
In summary, the following accessories are compatible:
- Dust bag
- Mop pads (rotating)
- filters
- Side brushes
- Spare brushes and batteries
- Accessory kits for cleaning and maintenance
These parts are specially designed for the Dreame X50 Ultra and some are also suitable for related models in the Dreame series.
This is the model in question:

The "scale inhibitor" on the Dreame X50 Ultra is currently not available as a spare part in CH/EU. It is presumably an internal module that cannot be replaced separately.
Dreame recommends using either filtered or decalcified water for hard water.
I wouldn't buy it again. He's extremely tricky, he's always going out of his way to drive into everything that's lying around. At the beginning, he was good at dodging and recognised a lot. Now, after 8 months, he's as blind as a bat, he's always stuck somewhere. If there is no water in the tank, it stops working completely. He doesn't do anything without water. We have the Roborock Sa5 S7 and S7 Ultra Vmax series on the other floors. They are older but much better. It cleans well, but everything else is so annoying that I can do it myself
Yes, it has. However, it must be activated in the settings - 'Settings for floor cleaning'.
- Automatic post-cleaning (only works in CleanGenius modes)
- Stain detection (laboratory function)
For me, it works better or worse depending on the combination of floor type and stain type...
Streaks in mop mode are usually caused by dirty or excessively dry mops. Clean the mops thoroughly or moisten them slightly and the problem should disappear.
Don't change... then stay with Xiaomi or Roborock. Mop and vacuum are absolutely brilliant. But the station has problems. Especially with retracting and extending. That's why I returned it. Better get Roborock saros
Check the setting in the app under "Settings for floor cleaning" - "Raise LDS automatically" - if this is set to "Off", it will not retract the tower. The best setting is "Safe cover".
The Dreame X50 Ultra only works with one docking station. Multiple stations on different floors cannot be used automatically.
Although it can store up to 4 cards for different floors, they must be moved manually. Without a station on the floor, it can only vacuum dry, not mop or clean itself.
Mops and docking stations of the Matrix 10 Ultra are not compatible with the X50 Ultra.
They differ mechanically and functionally, so only original X50 Ultra parts should be used.
Unfortunately, we have no experience of this ourselves. However, we recommend that you ask such a question as a discussion, as experience has shown that more customers respond there than to a single question.

The robot hoover can detect an open loft on the floor and prevents it from falling down thanks to a stair locker function. This means it recognises fall edges and stairs and does not drive down them. It also has an obstacle detector and laser navigation that help it navigate around the room safely.
Vacuuming at the station is loud, but it only lasts a few seconds. Vacuuming and mopping in the rooms is not too loud in my opinion. You also have 3 options for adjusting the volume
A 4cm threshold and another rail on top of it seems very difficult to me. The highest threshold here with us in Zurich is 2.7 cm high 3.5 cm away because of a front elevation , and that goes just fine. The Dream X50 finds its way, does not give up when overcoming obstacles and learns all the time. Because of the obstacle wheels and tipping function, it really is an asset. We used to have a predecessor modell where we had to put wedges in front of the thresholds. This is no longer necessary now. But for your threshold with rail, you may still need one more wedge quasi as a buying risk. Good luck and have fun. Mvg Marco from Zurich, in Switzerland for 33 years.
