Repeaters simply work by receiving data blocks and sending them again. In order for a new WLAN SSID name to become available, the device must have a little more technology, the WLAN client mode and a WLAN AP are necessary.

According to our information from the manufacturer, this is unfortunately not possible, only WPA/WPA2 is feasible.

Try resetting the repeater to factory settings. To do this, press the WPS button on the front for >10 seconds. Then you have to follow the installation wizard again. Since the 5 Ghz network does not radiate far, it is important that you configure the repeater close to the router. If that doesn't work, dial into the 2.4 Ghz and then check for firmware updates and install them if necessary. If none of this helps, I would then contact digitec.

Hello, I use 2 repeaters without any problems. They should just not be placed close to each other. Ideally each one in an opposite area to the router. The Devolo service is excellent if needed. Greetings

Yes, this is possible because a repeater repeats a WLAN signal and only needs to have a little reception from above (1 line from the ground floor WLAN, for example), it can amplify this so that you have full reception in the basement again. Concrete floors strongly attenuate the reception (30 cm thick floors and many reinforcement bars) so that you sometimes hardly have reception in the rooms below, so such repeaters are useful devices that refresh and expand the reception.
