It looks like the extender can only be used with encryption. I already have several dLan 500 adapters extenders in operation without encryption. How can I put this dLan550 into operation without modifying the existing infrastructure?

Super device! It passes on the lousy signal it receives from the router without any loss. Thanks to this device, I now have unrestricted lousy Wi-Fi on my terrace. Before, only indoors.

Does this expansion module work with the Devolo "dLan 500 duo MT2584" series? If it does not work, which model should I choose?

According to the brand, only the devolo Magic range is not compatible: "Yes, dLAN products in different speed ranges are fully compatible with each other. The only exception are the older 14 and 85 Mbps adapters. These are not compatible with the current products. For technical reasons, adapters from the devolo Magic series are not compatible with dLAN adapters."

Hello, is an extension plug enough to have Wi-Fi in the back room or do I need a repeater or a starter kit? And does the extension plug really have an integrated plug connection (no loss of the socket) as it says in the description? Where is it?

I have a Devolo Magic 2 LAN Starter Kit 1-1-2 system set-up, and I would like to add a Wi-Fi module to the system already set. Is the Devolo dLAN 550 wifi extension compatible with my set-up? In other words, if I plug it into the socket, will it receive the signal and retransmit over it's wifi? Thanks!

Hi, This is from Devolo website: Do Magic devices also support older dLAN devices? dLAN devices are not supported by the new generation of technology.
