I ask you to adjust the prices of the Denon AVR to the market. It can't be that an OLD Occ. Denon 4400 AVR costs more than a new Denon AVR 4700. Nothing is "within reason" any more!

Top device. The only "problem" is that the Denon does not automatically recognise 5.1 or Dolby Atmos via the ARC channel. According to the manufacturer, the "Auto" function should automatically recognise the signal as 5.1 or Atmos. Even if you switch to the 5.1 channel in the Netflix app, only stereo is recognised. However, as soon as you manually select "Dolby Surround", 5.1 seems to work. It does not recognise Atmos via ARC or eARC. I have updated everything and set it up again without success. Also fitted an HDMI 2.1 cable for the eARC to the correct ports. Otherwise, everything works perfectly (even Atmos via HDMI input). It is also possible that the fault lies with the TV (Sony AF9) as it is still quite new.

For me, this AVR recognises Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital 5.1 right away. The signal should not be processed before the AVR.

Unfortunately, I only have four speakers at the moment (without a subwoofer). Does anyone know how I have to set up the device to get sound on all four speakers?

After the automatic SETUP has been completed and the 4 speakers have been recognised, you can, for example, turn on MultiCH. Stereo for music, or Dolby Surround/DTS Neural X for movies. Press the Music or Movie buttons on the remote control to change the settings.

Main Zone: 2 x HDMI in parallel possible in operation, additional Zone: independent of Main Zone another HDMI signal output is possible.

I would like to purchase the Denon AVR-X4400H to replace my Denon AVR-4308. Would you recommend it? Does the X4400 have at least everything the 4308 has? Help with the installation

The AVR-X4400H is highly recommended and is certainly better everywhere than a 10-year-old AVR in the same price range. Except perhaps for pure stereo reproduction, but most AVRs are not ideal for that anyway.
