I have had the unit since this Thursday, but my unit sounds more like a refrigerator with a strong fan noise. I haven't noticed any high frequency sound. Do you mean like certain shop devices or cat scare? The first hour it had a special smell that quickly disappeared.

I might have a better idea. I bought the Vornado room air circulators, which can transport air up to 24 m and circulate it in a room. If such a room air circulator were placed in the cold air flow of the air conditioner, it would transport the cool air further into the room, so that an extension might not be necessary at all. Such a room air circulator is a good thing for an air conditioner anyway, because if it is directed towards the ceiling, it also ensures that it is equally cool in the whole room. Yes, one is included. Also a screen for sliding windows (who has such a window?) and also a pipe with a cover in case a wall opening is made for the hose. If the hose is to blow out of the window, an additional window kit has to be bought. I think the minus was for the hose, because the customer did not know what he was buying ;-)
