The device has neither a LAN nor a WLAN connection. I operate it with a Raspberry Pi, which is connected via HDMI. The Raspberry runs a programme that allows me to display any list of images. I could also mount a NAS file system on the Raspberry via NFS and thus display the images stored there. So, without an additional device (Raspberry or similar) and a programme for displaying via HDMI, it doesn't work.
No problem with viewing angle. Brightness and contrast are adjustable.
Better image if screen is not facing large window or other bright light source.
I like the product.
The only problem was the reversed labeling of HDMI and USB sockets

Timing is possible, but I don't know what the maximum is. I have set it for 2 minutes. You can hang it up with two nails or screws. I also hung the frame like this. Battery operation is not possible, unless you build something yourself. The power supply is a standard round plug, not USB.
Yes, random mode exists. I have imported about 450 pictures and they are played in random order. There are the two options "Order" and "Random" in the setup menu.
