I haven’t tried it for baby food, but I make smoothies, blitz coffee, nuts, soups and batter for pancakes with it. I’m happy with the soup consistency. Maybe it could work for baby food. Hope this helps.

This is the 7000X. It just has an extension set with it, that's why it's called 7045X. And yes, the blender can be pressed down while blending. "Active Blade
