I can't give you a patent answer, but I had a similar situation with another product. The first thing I would do is a factory reset of the vacuum cleaner.
Yes, I know the problem too. I was also in contact with Blaupunkt support - the device was then replaced. However, even with the new robot, everything remains dry. The tricks with removing the flap (supposed to be because of the vacuum) etc. didn't help me either. I therefore believe that the problem is not yours...
I can't say anything about the first point. In my opinion, it does not manage overlaps of 12 mm. Sometimes it stops at the edges of carpets with large fibres.
The app is in German for me. The vacuum is good from my point of view, and defining the blocked areas via the app is cool. However, it has more trouble with table legs etc. than the old Roomba and therefore I have to reset it manually about once a week. Otherwise, I am very satisfied.
The first map can be saved in the menu under Reset Map. You can also create a new map by moving the robot to a new floor and starting it. Then save the new map. Then the floor can be edited and selected between the saved maps. Have fun with it.

It can drive over carpets and even doorsteps without any problems. The instructions say it can do up to 2cm. For us, it's actually a little over 2cm and it makes it.
