The glass wall on the right-hand side is useless, because that's where the cables and the 2.5-inch drives are.
The cover is also held in guide slots at the top and bottom of the enclosure and is fixed from behind with 2 screws. With a little modding skill (cutting sheet metal, gluing in plexiglass) this would certainly work.
I have both the LL and the QL in the enclosure, but also on the Commander Pro. I have completely removed the fan controller from bequiet itself, and it works perfectly.
I have done this here to convert the window to the other side. The fans are probably high performance, whereby the fast mode must be activated on the built-in fan control.
Unfortunately, I don't understand the questions about risers and vertical installation.
That's exactly what the control unit is for. Two fans are already installed and up to six can be operated. If in doubt, the fans can of course also be connected directly to the mainboard.
You don't need anything else for the Dark Base 700 - as long as you don't mind the small distance between the graphics card and the side panel and its effects (increase in temperature and volume). Otherwise you would have to look for a set/bracket that can be installed instead of the 7 horizontal slots - but this prevents the installation of other PCIe cards...

I also wanted to connect the fans to the fan controller and then to my ASUS board. I gave up because the speeds could neither be displayed nor adjusted via the AI Suite. Now all fans are connected to the board. Otherwise, however, a super case. The LEDs also support RGB and can be controlled via Auro when connected directly to the board.
PWM needs 4 wires. The Silent Wings 3 (whether installed or purchased separately) are 4pin/PWM fans... I don't know what went wrong with you ;) be quiet! SilentWings 3 PWM High-Speed (140mm, 2x) is what you need.
As delivered, it is on the left. However, it is possible to convert the enclosure so that the entire main wheel carrier is installed inverted, in which case the side window is also on the right-hand side. This is one of the key features of the case. My PC is on the left side of the desk against the wall ;)
On the back (behind the mobo) there are three installation options for 2.5" drives. Of course, further 2.5" drives can be installed in the 3.5" slots with adapters.
Unfortunately, Anonymous' statement is wrong. It is possible to change sides. However, the inside is turned upside down. See video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOUCLu6wXPw
I got the case today and as far as I can see you can install a 120 or a 140 fan at the very bottom front (but you have to remove or move the 2 pre-mounted HDDs).
Hope I could help you.
Greetings

Hello.
Yes, all these motherboards will fit in this case. You are right about the CD drive. There is no space to install a drive.
I hope I could help you.
